Important account notice

Runnels Google account access will end

Access ends May 31, 2027

If you still use an account ending in @runnels.org, save any personal information you want to keep before the shutdown date.

What will stop working

Access to Runnels Google accounts will end on May 31, 2027. After that date, you will lose access to your account and its data, including:

Gmail

Your @runnels.org mailbox, messages, and account sign-in.

Google Drive

Your access to My Drive, shared files, and shared drives through the Runnels account.

Calendar and Contacts

Your personal calendars, events, and saved contacts.

Other Google data

Data stored in other Google services under the Runnels account.

The public Runnels website or the runnels.org domain may continue separately. If either remains online, that does not mean individual Google accounts remain available.

What you need to do

  1. Decide what personal email, files, calendars, contacts, photographs, or other information you want to keep.
  2. Copy Gmail and Drive data to a personal Google Account, if the transfer option is available to you.
  3. Use Google Takeout to download any other data you want to preserve.
  4. Open several copied files and messages in the new location to confirm the transfer worked.
  5. Update other accounts that use your @runnels.org address for sign-in or password recovery, and tell contacts your new email address.
  6. Finish before May 31, 2027. Google says a content transfer can take up to a week. Allow time to check the result.

A note about school records

If your account contains official school records, student information, financial records, or other institutional material, do not delete it or move the only copy into a personal account. Runnels will handle preservation of designated school records separately.

These public instructions are for self-service preservation of personal data. Individual migration assistance is limited to users with a current school-business need, designated institutional or administrative accounts, and exceptions approved by the Board. Access to dormant accounts is not guaranteed.
